Log A Load for Kids

Log A Load For Kids is part of the Children's Miracle Network (CMN), a nonprofit organization committed to helping sick and injured children of all ages, regardless of their affliction or ability to pay.  The Children's Miracle Network sponsors 161 hospitals nationwide.

Log A Load for Kids began in 1988 in South Carolina.  Loggers from all over the country donate the value of one load of "logs," or any amount they can to help make hospital stays easier for sick or injured children.  In 1996, Log A Load for Kids raised over $1.6 million, which was donated to children's hospitals throughout the country.

The IFIC Board of Directors voted to support Log A Load for Kids and begin a campaign for Indiana loggers to join other loggers from across the country already part of this wonderful cause.

The Log A Load For Kids program provides an opportunity for IFIC members to help sick or injured children and truly make a difference in the lives of our most precious resource.

When you make a donation to Log A Load For Kids, 100% of your tax deductible donation will go to Riley Hospital for Children, which is the network member in Indiana.

Riley Hospital is the only hospital in Indiana providing comprehensive care to children generally not available at community hospitals.  More than 150,000 patient visits are made to Riley annually, treating 90% of all Hoosier children with cancer and houses Indiana's only pediatric stem cell transplant program.  The hospital offers Indiana's only pediatric centers for burns, kidney dialysis, cystic fibrosis, spina bifida, craniofacial abnormalities and sleep abnormalities.  It has established one of the top 10 pediatric cardiovascular programs in the country.

Riley hospital's partnership with Clarian Health and strong affiliation with the Indiana University School of Medicine make it the only comprehensive clinical resource for Indiana's children and the premier source for health related information for their parents.  Riley hospital offers nearly 100 pediatric specialty and subspecialty programs.
